The Graceden Healthcare Services website incorporates a range of features tailored to support users with impairments or specific needs. Moreover, we are dedicated to evolving our editorial practices to create content that is consistently accessible and engaging for everyone.

Standards compliance and validation

We have implemented the XHTML 1.0 and CSS standards established by the W3C, recognizing that a strong foundation is essential for both usability and accessibility. Our efforts have also been directed towards achieving AA accessibility in alignment with version 1.0 of the WCAG. However, we acknowledge that some WCAG checkpoints are open to interpretation. While we are confident in our adherence to these guidelines, we understand that perspectives on compliance may occasionally differ..

Layout

The website’s visual layout is crafted using cascading style sheets (CSS). For browsers that lack support for CSS, the content flow has been thoroughly evaluated to ensure it retains its coherence and clarity. Additionally, a distinct print style sheet has been implemented to omit non-essential navigation elements, offering a streamlined print experience.

Navigation and navigation aids

The website’s primary navigation is located at the top of each page. Predominantly secondary navigation elements are contained in the left-hand column, however this does not appear on all pages. A link to the home page is available on each page through the Helping Hands logo. All navigation elements are marked up as HTML unordered lists and styled with CSS.

Semantic markup

All pages on this site use structured semantic markup. H1 tags are used for main titles, H2 tags for subtitles.

All content images used in this site include descriptive alternative text attributes. Where an image is used for a decorative purpose the alternative text will be left blank.
